Pasting a whole field at once is the loudest marker. A real person types a name by hand, stumbles on the middle one, reaches for the passport, comes back. Flawless speed with zero corrections reads like a bot, not a tired user at 1 a.m.
The mouse talks too. A bot's cursor moves in straight lines. A human one wanders, overshoots, trembles on the last pixel.
Hence the paradox: the neater the form, the more automated it looks. Perfection is suspicious.

RENTED A CAR – HANDED YOUR FACE TO THE DARKNET
Journalist Brian Krebs went digging into a new market called Nexus and found himself there. His own licence. His mother's. Plus documents belonging to the FBI's deputy director and the US Secretary of Defense. The database: 153 million US and Canadian driver's licences – and it wasn't a dusty archive. It was topping up with 400,000 fresh scans a day.
Source? Krebs and his mother had handed their licences to a clerk at Hertz. An Ars Technica editor handed over his – and found it on Nexus a couple of hours after picking up the car. The trail led to verification provider IDScan net: 21 million documents a month through their servers.
Here's the part that matters. What leaked wasn't phone photos of plastic – it was full infrared and ultraviolet scans. Not "a picture of a licence", but its entire internal anatomy: layers, microtext, invisible print. For anyone who makes documents, that's not a breach. That's a reference library.
Nexus admins slapped up a holding page and vanished the same day. The FBI is already taking apart their office in New Orleans.

"CAN YOU DO A BULGARIAN REVOLUT?" – WE DID. FIRST DRAFT, NO EDITS
The request came in short: a photo of a bank card, Bulgaria, Revolut. We said yes and asked the only question that matters – what data. The client was on the road, asked for a couple of hours, then sent the lot: number, expiry, CVV, payment system, bank, cardholder name.
Then came the part the client never sees:
ran the number through Luhn – the check digit has to add up, otherwise the card is dead the second anything automated looks at it
Sent the draft for approval. The client looked it over, signed off with zero corrections – final files went out. One pass, no rework.
A card is a deceptively simple document. Looks like a rectangle and sixteen digits. In reality it's maths in the number, a tie to the issuer, a current design and light on plastic. Miss any one of the four and the file gets exactly two seconds of attention.
